The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences held its annual research day on April 17, where students from the LIFT Lab gave poster presentations on their research work.
Payton Smith, an undergraduate lab assistant, presented on the use of AI in Physical Therapy, specifically, the importance of prioritizing patient-facing safeguards and AI literacy before clinical automation. Abbie Leverett, also an undergraduate lab assistant, presented on understanding falls and engagement patterns in the CARES community paramedicine program.
Angela Emerson and Neena Thomas, PhD students in the lab, also presented posters at the conference. Angela explored how co-design methods can inform the development of wellness programs for law enforcement personnel, while Neena examined current prescription patterns of GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) and the role Learning Health Systems can play in improving prescribing practices.
We are proud of Peyton, Abbie, Angela, and Neena for their excellent presentations and continued contributions to research in the LIFT Lab!
